95.5-04 Tacoma Q. What is a diff drop kit? The diff drop kit is for 4x4 trucks only, it lowers the front diff 1" to minimize the angles on the front CV axles Q. Do I need the diff drop kit? On 4wd models it is a good idea with 3" lifts as it lessens the front CV axle angles Q. Can I run a 3" front lift on my automatic disconnecting differential Tacoma? Yes, the ADD trucks can use the 3" kits Q. Can I Use your 3" lift front spacers with the 3" coil kit for 6" Total lift? NO, you cannot. 3" is the maximum front lift on these vehicles without replacing, or lowering the entire front cross member. The control arms, ball joints and Cv axles will not allow more lift. Q. What is the best option for rear lift, Add-a-leafs, shackles, or blocks? We feel our custom rear add-a-leafs are the all around best option for rear lift, the shackles can be used if you do not tow, or haul weight in the bed. We do not recommend block kits for these years/models. Q. Do I need longer shocks with your lift kits? Yes, on 95.5-04 Tacoma trucks we do recommend longer rear shocks, the stock front shocks will work provided they are in good condition. Kits with front coils will benefit from the addition of OME shocks, they are designed to work with the OME coils. Q. What is the difference between the coil kits, and the spacer lifts? The kits with coils in the front are a better option for trucks with the stock sagging TRD coils. The ride will be softer on these models than spacers only are. They will be slightly firmer than stock though. The kits with OME front coils will give the best ride when used with the OME shocks. There are also different coils available for handling the weight of an aftermarket bumper and or winch. Q. Is there more stress on front end components (CV axles, joints, and ball joints) if I use your lift with spacers only and not coils? No, this is a common misconception that is completely false, neither our spacers or kits with front coils cause more stress or wear on front end components than the other. There are however other manufacturers spacers we have seen that will cause problems if too much spacer is over the top plate of the shock..... Q. Will your lift kit "level" my truck? Yes, the 3" complete kits will level your truck, lifting the front 3" and the rear 2". The 2 1/2" kits will leave the rear slightly higher, like stock. Q. What size tire can I run after installing your 3" lift? We recommend 32x11.50x15 tires, or a 275/70/16 tire on 8" wheels. We do not guarantee any tire/ wheel fitment and recommend you have your tire dealer install and "test fit" any wheel tire/wheel combination you are considering Q. Will I need an alignment after the lift? Yes, you will need an alignment after the lift install. We recommend the Camber be set to zero and toe .04 degrees Q. Will the installation of a lift Void my warranty? The installation of a lift will not Void the warranty. Coverage on any part that is proven to be damaged as the result of a lift or any condition caused by the install of a lift can be denied for coverage though. Frequently asked questions for 2007+ Tundra |
Q. Do I need the diff drop kit on my 2007 4x4 Tundra? Y The diff drop kit does lessen the angles on the axles, not a bad addition our 4x4 kits for this model include the diff drop kit. Q. How much can I lift my 2007 Tundra? 3" is the maximum front lift on these vehicles without replacing, or lowering the entire front cross member. The stock control arms, ball joints and Cv axles will not allow more lift. Q. Do I need longer shocks with your 3" kit? No, The stock shocks work great on the 2007 Tundra trucks. Q. Can I use shackles or add-a-leafs on the rear for lift? No, You cannot use shackles on the 2007 Tundra, their rear spring mounts do not allow standard "bolt on" shackle designs to work. Blocks on the rear of the new Tundra seem to be the best option as they do not change the ride at all. The add-a-leaf is only recommended on the new Tundra if you will have additional weight in the bed at all times. Q. Will the lift kits you offer "level" my truck? Yes, our 3" complete front and rear kits are designed to level your truck, by lifting the front 3" and the rear 1" . The 2 1/2" kits will leave the rear slightly higher . Q. What size tires can I run with the 3" lift kit? We have not tested every wheel/tire size on these trucks, but 285/65/18, 285/65/20, and 305/55/20 tires have been used. We do not guarantee tire/wheel fitment due to variations between different wheel and tire manufacturers specs. We recommend "Test fitting" any aftermarket tire or wheel you are considering. Q. Is the ride stiff with the spacers in the front. The ride with our 3" spacer lift kit on the new Tundra is great, we think it is better than stock. The length of the front coil really helps the ride still be very nice. It feels less firm than the stock ride in the rear does, and feels more matched after the lift. Q. Is there more stress on front end components (CV axles, joints, and ball joints) if I use your lift with spacers instead of an adjustable coil over ? No, this is a common misconception that is completely false, neither our spacers or kits with front coils cause more stress or wear on front end components than the other comparing with the same amount of lift. There are however other manufacturers spacers we have seen that will cause problems if too much spacer is over the top plate of the shock..... Q. Q. Can I Use your 3" lift front spacers with the 3" coilovers for 6" Total lift?
NO, you cannot. 3" is the maximum front lift on these vehicles without replacing, or lowering the entire front cross member. The stock control arms, ball joints and Cv axles will not allow more lift.
